What is Sinister Music Inc?

Sinister Music Inc. is a promotional company for both the signed and unsigned artists.

We specialize in promotion through compilation CD's at concerts all over the US.

Your music will be placed on a CD next to major label artists!

In the world of the internet and myspace, with the vast numbers of artists emerging every single day, the difficulty of captivating your target audience is getting more and more difficult.

It's overwhelming for a listener to give new music a chance.

Here at Sinister Music Inc. we bring promotion back to the grass roots level of HAND TO HAND street teaming.

We guarantee your music directly in the hands of your mass demographic audience.

We are able to keep costs down so all unsigned artists are able to get the promotion they deserve at a professional level.

Is This Legit?

Absolutely. If you'd like to speak with us personally you can request a phone call from either Erin or Kyle.
Do take a look on this main site page. We have pictures of all of our representatives doing their jobs at the shows as well as company and staff information.
Also listed are the actual representative bands who will be attending the shows. You can contact them directly to confirm that they will be there.
Everything we do here is a 100% legit. We are from bands ourselves and strive to make sure that the bands we work with are comfortable in knowing that we are getting the job done.

Do you take the rights to our music?

No. You the Artist do not have to sign away any rights to your music.

The Sinister Agreement states that we only ask permission to use your material on the compilation CD that your band paid to be on.

Furthermore, it is also the Artists responsibility to own the copyrights to the material submitted. Sinister Music Inc is in no way responsible if an artist was to falsely claim right to music they do not own.

How can I get my band on these compilations?

The compilation discs screen contains full information about the compilation, what major artists will be contributing music, plus how to submit song, and payment.

Please do read on further to get the rest of the details about the compilations discs.

Why do we have to pay you?

Sinister Music Inc is a music promotion company.
The compilations produced do take money,  time, and effort to make.

The compilations sole purpose is to allow the artists music to gain exposure on a more professional level at a cost that is reasonable.

Your music will be along side artists on record labels for fractions of the price you would have to pay to be apart of larger organizations discs.

Sinister Music Inc does the work for the artist by guaranteeing it directly in the hands of people.

On average a band pays about 10-11 cents per CD handed out.
Take into consideration the amount it would cost a band to produce the same amount of CDs and travel or ship your music to these shows to hand out.

Sinister Music Inc. guarantees professionalism, quality, and efficiency.

What does payment entitle us to?

Your payment entitles you to a track on the specified number of discs to be handed out at said show by Sinister Music Inc, 1 free complimentary copy sent to you and any extra options you signed up for.  Band must pay small shipping fee.

Can we get a discount if we sign on for more than one compilation?

Yes. Sinister Music Inc.'s prices do decrease as you sign onto more discs.

Sinister Music Inc also has just launched packages that save bands almost half off what you

would normally pay. All Summer 2008 specials are listed in the compilation section.

Who hands out the discs?

All Sinister Music INC representatives are members of bands that are appearing on the CDs. There music is placed on the disc free of charge as compensation for doing the distribution job.

At Sinister Music INC we feel that having a band member on the disc hand these out is absolutely more efficient than having just a street teamer/concert goer do the job. It's of value for the band member to pass out the discs with their music on it as opposed to someone who just attends the show.

How can my band become a representative and get a free track slot?

If there isn't a representative band listed in the compilation's information section,

Sign up on the compilations page by clicking the free track slots tab on the left menu.

Extra copies are $1.50 each and we ask for you to pay shipping for those items as well.

Why do you have separate myspace sites for each compilation?

Until our databases can be built where you guys can log into this website as a user,  it is the easiest way to keep track of who is on what compilation album.

What happens if not enough bands sign up for a compilation disc?

We will not put into production a disc that has less that 8 unsigned bands sign onto the disc.

When this occurs Sinister Music INC will cancel the disc, contact all bands who paid to be on the disc and offer either to be on another disc, another compilation, or a full refund.

Why do you have separate Discs for the same tour?

We offer separate discs so that bands can choose between different areas and quantities suiting to their budget.

Say we are offering 5000 discs total at a show.....

Bands not wanting to spend $400 to get on 5000 discs have the option of spending $60 to get on 1000 instead.

Or bands only wanting to be promoted in their area can choose just that option.

We understand what it is to be a musician especially an unknown, unsigned one so we have these options that that everyone can afford them.

It says you also include major label artists...

What labels do you receive music from?

We are currently receiving music from Roadrunner, Ferret, Trustkill, Century Media, Relapse, Nuclear Blast  and more to come.

Do the labels receive the CD too?

Upon request, the labels may receive copies of the CD's that their bands are placed on.

However, it is not Sinister Music Inc's duty to "shop" your band to these labels, inquire about record deals, etc.

The compilations sole purpose is to allow the artists music to gain exposure on a professional level along side artists on record labels.

Sinister Music Inc. is not a management or booking company and cannot get your band on the shows with these labels either.

What happens if you need to cancel a compilation?

In the event Sinister Music Inc needs to cancel or postpone a compilations, all paying bands on the disc will be notified and offered the option of a full refund or option to move to another disc either on that Volume or any of the bands choosing.
